    Afternoon

Where to stay

A French colonial villa or boutique hotel on the old town peninsula, between the Mekong and the Nam Khan.

Our tip

Watch the alms round from across the street, in silence and without flash; it is a daily religious ritual, not a performance.

When

Best Nov–Feb; still lovely Mar, Oct.
