✺ Your Luxentravel trip

Three days in Santorini

A short, sun-drenched stay on the rim of a flooded volcano, balancing the famous caldera views with quieter villages, ancient ruins and black-sand beaches.

Save to My trips
  1. Day 1

    Along the caldera rim

    Morning

Set out early on the cliff-top path from Fira toward Oia, passing through Firostefani and Imerovigli with the caldera opening beneath you.

    Afternoon

Pause at Skaros Rock, the old castle headland, then continue to Oia for a late lunch and a long rest in the shade.

    Evening

Skip the crowds at Oia's castle and watch sunset from a quieter terrace, then dine above the water as the lights come on.

  2. Day 2

    Into the volcano

    Morning

Take a boat across the caldera to Nea Kameni and hike up to the steaming crater rim.

    Afternoon

Swim in the warm, iron-rich waters near Palea Kameni, then sail back past the cliffs as the light softens.

    Evening

Head inland to the hilltop village of Pyrgos for a quieter dinner and a wide view over vineyards and sea.

  3. Day 3

    Ruins, wine and black sand

    Morning

Visit Akrotiri, the Bronze Age town preserved under volcanic ash, then walk on to the dramatic cliffs of Red Beach.

    Afternoon

Taste crisp Assyrtiko and sweet Vinsanto at one of the island's wineries, where vines grow low in woven baskets against the wind.

    Evening

End on the black sand at Perissa or Kamari with your feet in the water and a simple grilled fish supper.

Where to stay

Imerovigli, the highest point of the caldera, for the best views with fewer crowds than Oia.

Our tip

Pack flat, sturdy shoes; caldera villages are built on steps, and many cliffside hotels are reached only on foot down steep stairways.

When

Best May–Jun, Sep; still lovely Apr, Oct.
