    Lake and mountain

    Morning

    Ride the gondola up Bob's Peak for views of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables, or hike the Queenstown Hill trail.

    Afternoon

    Take the scenic drive to Glenorchy at the head of the lake, a landscape of mountains and braided rivers.

    Evening

    Return to town for dinner by the lakefront as the Remarkables turn violet in the dusk.

    Fiords or powder

    Morning

    Take a scenic flight to Milford Sound in Fiordland, or in winter, ski Coronet Peak or the Remarkables.

    Afternoon

    Cruise the fiord among waterfalls and sheer cliffs before flying back.

    Evening

    A relaxed dinner and a soak in a hot tub with lake views.

    Gold country and wine

    Morning

    Visit Arrowtown, a gold-mining village with historic cottages and autumn color.

    Afternoon

    Taste pinot noir in the Gibbston Valley, and watch the bungy jumpers at the Kawarau Bridge.

    Evening

    End with a fireside dinner in Arrowtown, or back in Queenstown with a last glass of Central Otago pinot.
