✺ Your Luxentravel trip

Three days in Aspen

Three days in a ski town with a cultural calendar to match: powder or high-country trails by day, galleries and an elegant après by night.

Save to My trips
  1. Day 1

    Up Aspen Mountain

    Morning

In winter, ski Aspen Mountain right from town; in summer, ride the gondola to the top for hiking and views.

    Afternoon

Return to town for lunch, then browse the galleries and the Aspen Art Museum's rooftop.

    Evening

Après on a sunny terrace, then dinner in one of downtown's polished restaurants.

  2. Day 2

    Bowls and bells

    Morning

In winter, hike the ridge into Highland Bowl for steep, untracked snow; in summer, take the shuttle to the Maroon Bells, the twin peaks mirrored in Maroon Lake.

    Afternoon

Warm up over lunch at a mountain restaurant, then cruise long groomers; in summer, walk on from Maroon Lake toward Crater Lake through the aspens.

    Evening

A slow dinner by the fire, with mountain air and tired legs ensuring an early night.

  3. Day 3

    Town and trails

    Morning

Walk the Rio Grande Trail along the river or snowshoe through the aspen groves.

    Afternoon

Visit the John Denver Sanctuary, then enjoy a long spa session.

    Evening

End with a last dinner downtown and a nightcap in a hotel lounge with the mountain lit up beyond the window.

Where to stay

Downtown Aspen near the gondola, or slopeside at Snowmass for families.

Our tip

In summer, the Maroon Bells require advance reservations for the shuttle or parking; book as soon as you know your dates.

When

Best Jan–Mar, Jul–Aug; still lovely Sep, Dec.
